Finds at Hájniky point to Slavs living on this terrace by about the sixth century, long before there was any kingdom here to belong to. That is not surprising. A place with warm springs, a river full of fish and a broad, well-drained valley floor is exactly where people settle if they are allowed to choose. Nothing was written down for another six hundred years, so what we know about them comes out of the ground rather than out of an archive.Nálezy v Hájnikoch naznačujú, že na tejto terase žili Slovania už okolo šiesteho storočia, dávno predtým, než tu bolo nejaké kráľovstvo, ku ktorému by mohli patriť. Nie je to prekvapujúce. Miesto s teplými prameňmi, s riekou plnou rýb a so širokým, dobre odvodneným dnom doliny je presne to, kde sa ľudia usadia, ak si môžu vyberať. Ďalších šesťsto rokov o nich nikto nič nezapísal, takže to, čo vieme, pochádza zo zeme, nie z archívu.
