After the Velvet Revolution of November 1989 the pilgrimages to Živčáková resumed openly and grew, and the hill became a recognised place of pilgrimage of the Žilina diocese. The distinction the Church draws here is worth understanding, because students meet it at other shrines too: permitting the devotion is not the same as declaring the apparitions genuine, and the diocese has done the first without doing the second. On the hill there is a spring that pilgrims draw water from, an open-air altar and stations up the slope, and a large modern pilgrimage church dedicated to the Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church, consecrated in the 2010s. The main pilgrimages fall in the warmer half of the year and fill the hillside; on an ordinary Tuesday it is birch and spruce and the whole of the Kysuce laid out below.Po Nežnej revolúcii v novembri 1989 sa púte na Živčákovú obnovili verejne a rástli a z vrchu sa stalo uznané pútnické miesto Žilinskej diecézy. Rozlíšenie, ktoré tu Cirkev robí, sa oplatí pochopiť, lebo študenti naň narazia aj pri iných svätyniach: povoliť úctu nie je to isté ako vyhlásiť zjavenia za pravé — a diecéza urobila prvé, nie druhé. Na vrchu je prameň, z ktorého si pútnici naberajú vodu, oltár pod holým nebom, zastavenia po svahu a veľký moderný pútnický kostol zasvätený Panne Márii Matke Cirkvi, posvätený v desiatych rokoch tohto storočia. Hlavné púte pripadajú na teplejšiu polovicu roka a svah zaplnia; v obyčajný utorok sú tu len brezy, smreky a celé Kysuce rozložené dole.
