For a long time the bath had almost no village attached to it. A census in 1784 found four houses, five families and twenty-seven inhabitants; in 1828 there were eight houses and eighty-nine people. Compare that with Rajec at the head of the same valley, which had 475 houses in 1784. This was a spot on somebody's estate that the lords used and the people of Konská farmed around.
