In 1441 Peter Komorovský is recorded as castellan of Orava. These were the years when the kingdom had two claimants to the throne and effectively no government, and whole counties in the north were run by armed commanders who had come in with one side or the other and then stayed. Komorovský held Orava and Liptov much as a private possession. By the later fifteenth century the castle had passed to King Matthias Corvinus, who spent much of his reign prising exactly such men out of exactly such castles. For the village at the foot of the rock, a change of master meant a change of who its labour, its cartage and its taxes belonged to.V roku 1441 sa ako kastelán Oravy spomína Peter Komorovský. Boli to roky, keď malo kráľovstvo dvoch uchádzačov o trón a fakticky nijakú vládu a celé severné stolice riadili ozbrojení velitelia, ktorí prišli s jednou či druhou stranou a potom zostali. Komorovský držal Oravu a Liptov takmer ako súkromný majetok. V druhej polovici 15. storočia prešiel hrad kráľovi Matejovi Korvínovi, ktorý veľkú časť vlády strávil vypáčaním práve takýchto mužov z práve takýchto hradov. Pre dedinu pod bralom znamenala výmena pána zmenu toho, komu patrí jej robota, jej furmanka a jej dane.
