Around the middle of the thirteenth century people stopped living on the hill. The lord's court was given up, the settlement around it broke apart, and the church was left standing empty; it stayed a ruin for roughly three hundred years. It is tempting to blame the Mongol invasion of 1241, which certainly swept through this country and terrified it, but the excavation does not prove it and honest accounts do not claim it. Settlements moved in that century for many reasons — a new landlord, a better site beside the road, the pull of the valley — and this is one of the cases where we know what happened but not why.Okolo polovice 13. storočia ľudia z kopca odišli.
