The fortress had one more war left in it. On 16 November 1704 it was taken by the kuruc — the insurgent army of Francis II Rákóczi, fighting the Habsburgs — and it stayed in their hands for six years. Imperial troops besieged it from 14 to 23 September 1710 and took it back. This is the war that decided the fortress's fate. In fifty years Vienna had watched the best border fortress in the kingdom used against it twice.Na jednu vojnu pevnosti ešte zostalo.
