The manor was confiscated in 1945 and became state property, and the state eventually did the one thing a private owner could not have afforded: it restored both buildings. Work on the ruined castle above began in 1972 and is still going on in stages. The Dardanely was restored in 1983, when its two wings were added to the original central block.
