Since the 1990s Bratislava has spread east along the motorway and Senec has grown with it: about 20,000 people now, double the 1980 figure, in one of the fastest-growing districts in Slovakia. The same flat ground that once made the town a toll stop now makes it a warehouse address — the corridor between the capital and Senec carries the densest concentration of distribution centres in the country. The lakes fill every July with people from Bratislava and Vienna. Road, plain, and water dug out of that plain by accident: they are the same three advantages Senec has been living off since 1252, and only the traffic has changed.Od 90. rokov sa Bratislava rozťahuje na východ pozdĺž diaľnice a Senec rastie s ňou: dnes má okolo 20 000 obyvateľov, dvojnásobok stavu z roku 1980, a jeho okres patrí k najrýchlejšie rastúcim na Slovensku. Tá istá rovina, vďaka ktorej tu kedysi stálo mýto, robí dnes z mesta skladovú adresu — koridor medzi hlavným mestom a Sencom má najhustejšiu koncentráciu distribučných centier v krajine. Jazerá sa každý júl zapĺňajú ľuďmi z Bratislavy aj z Viedne. Cesta, rovina a voda, ktorú z tej roviny ktosi omylom vykopal: sú to tie isté tri výhody, z ktorých Senec žije od roku 1252, a zmenila sa len doprava.
