1945 – the 1970s Magnesite, the collective farm and the reservoirMagnezit, družstvo a nádrž

After the war the manor house was taken over by the state and used by the collective farm. Magnesite had been mined in this area since the early twentieth century, and in the early 1970s the valley below the castle was dammed to make the Ružiná reservoir, which was adopted almost at once as the summer beach of the whole district. The ruin on the ridge, meanwhile, went on quietly falling down.Po vojne kaštieľ zoštátnili a využívalo ho jednotné roľnícke družstvo. V okolí sa od začiatku dvadsiateho storočia ťažil magnezit a začiatkom sedemdesiatych rokov údolie pod hradom zahradili a vznikla nádrž Ružiná, ktorú si takmer okamžite osvojil celý okres ako svoju letnú pláž. Zrúcanina na hrebeni sa medzitým ticho rozpadávala ďalej.
