DivínDivín

The reckoning came when imperial commanders — Karl von Strassoldo and Jakob von Leslie are the names given — besieged Divín, took it, and then did what armies rarely bother to do after a victory: they demolished it, so that this hilltop could never again hold a garrison answerable to nobody. Hungarian sources date the demolition to 1679; the account told locally puts it in 1683. The castle was never rebuilt. Look at the upper ward and you can see the difference between wall that fell and wall that was pushed over — the Ottomans only occupied Divín, and it took its own emperor to destroy it.Účtovanie prišlo, keď cisárski velitelia — uvádzajú sa mená Karl von Strassoldo a Jakob von Leslie — Divín obliehali, dobyli a potom urobili to, čo si vojská po víťazstve zvyčajne nedávajú za námahu: dali ho zbúrať, aby tento kopec už nikdy nedržal posádku, ktorá sa nikomu nezodpovedá. Maďarské pramene kladú zborenie do roku 1679, miestne podanie do roku 1683. Hrad už nikto neobnovil. Na hornom nádvorí vidno rozdiel medzi múrom, ktorý spadol, a múrom, ktorý niekto zvalil — Osmani Divín iba obsadili, zničiť ho musel až vlastný cisár.
