August 1944 – 1945 The uprising in the mountains, and the frontPovstanie v horách a front

The Slovak National Uprising broke out in August 1944 and declared itself at Banská Bystrica, over the hills to the north-west; Divín spent that autumn in a Slovakia at war with the German army that came to crush it, with the fighting in the mountains rather than in the villages of the basin. The front reached Novohrad in the winter of 1944–45. With it the Vienna Award ended: in 1945 the border of 1938 was cancelled and the towns to the south returned to Czechoslovakia. The Zichy family's long connection with the village ended in the same year.Slovenské národné povstanie vypuklo v auguste 1944 a vyhlásilo sa v Banskej Bystrici, za kopcami na severozápad; Divín prežil tú jeseň v Slovensku, ktoré bojovalo s nemeckou armádou vyslanou povstanie rozdrviť, pričom sa bojovalo v horách, nie v dedinách kotliny. Front dorazil do Novohradu v zime 1944 – 1945. S ním sa skončila aj viedenská arbitráž: roku 1945 hranicu z roku 1938 zrušili a mestá na juhu sa vrátili Československu. V tom istom roku sa skončilo aj dlhé spojenie Zičiovcov s obcou.
