Nobody built on the ridge again. The family lived in the manor house on the flat, and from 1686 the Zichy family held the patronage rights here, keeping them until 1945 — which is why the manor is usually called the Zichy kaštieľ. The ruin above was left to the forest and became a quarry for anyone who needed dressed stone. One detail is worth keeping straight: the manor was built in 1670, while the castle was still standing.
