After 1948 the land went into a collective farm and the manor houses were taken from their owners and put to state uses — flats, offices, stores. The village kept its water and became a place with recreation buildings rather than a spa. Meanwhile something new was being found behind it: cavers working the Jánska dolina through these decades traced some of the deepest cave systems in Slovakia under its limestone. In 1978 the whole range was declared the Low Tatras National Park, which is why the valley now ends at a barrier.Po roku 1948 skončila pôda v družstve a kúrie zobrali majiteľom a dali im štátne využitie — byty, kancelárie, sklady. Obec si nechala vodu a stala sa miestom s rekreačnými zariadeniami, nie kúpeľmi. Za ňou sa medzitým objavovalo niečo nové: jaskyniari, ktorí počas týchto desaťročí pracovali v Jánskej doline, zamerali pod jej vápencom jedny z najhlbších jaskynných systémov na Slovensku. Roku 1978 bolo celé pohorie vyhlásené za Národný park Nízke Tatry, a preto dolina dnes končí rampou.
