In the sixteenth century a family of lesser nobles called the Mitoškovci lived here, and the village picked up a second name from them: Mitošiny. In the first half of the seventeenth century the Dvorník family built the manor house that is still called Kaštieľ Mitošiny. Two names for one village is not unusual in Slovakia and it is worth understanding why: a place was known by whoever held it, so when the holder changed, the name could change with him. Bešeňová won in the end; Mitošiny survives on the manor.V 16. storočí tu žila drobná zemianska rodina Mitoškovcov a obec od nej dostala druhé meno — Mitošiny. V prvej polovici 17. storočia postavili Dvorníkovci kúriu, ktorá sa dodnes volá Kaštieľ Mitošiny. Dve mená pre jednu dedinu nie sú na Slovensku nič nezvyčajné a stojí za to pochopiť prečo: miesto sa poznalo podľa toho, kto ho držal, a keď sa zmenil držiteľ, mohlo sa zmeniť aj meno. Nakoniec vyhrala Bešeňová; Mitošiny prežili na kúrii.
