Since the early 1990s the castle has staged the International Festival of Ghosts and Spirits, when the rooms are handed over to costumed performers and the tours run after dark. It worked: for a whole generation of Slovak families that festival is the reason they first came, and Bojnice is now the most visited castle in the country and a standing film set for fairy tales. It is worth noticing what is actually being visited. The medieval castle is underneath, and it is real. The postcard on top is Count Pálfi's, and it is only a little over a hundred years old.Od začiatku deväťdesiatych rokov sa na zámku koná Medzinárodný festival duchov a strašidiel: miestnosti prevezmú kostýmovaní účinkujúci a prehliadky sa presunú do noci. Zafungovalo to — pre celú generáciu slovenských rodín je práve tento festival dôvodom, prečo sem prvý raz prišli, a Bojnice sú dnes najnavštevovanejším zámkom v krajine a stálou kulisou rozprávok. Stojí za to všimnúť si, čo sa vlastne navštevuje. Stredoveký hrad je vespod a je skutočný. Pohľadnica na ňom patrí grófovi Pálfimu a je len o niečo viac než storočná.
