ŠaľaŠaľa
Raiding between 1661 and 1663 left thirty houses standing in Šaľa out of three hundred. Then Nové Zámky fell in 1663 and the Ottomans made it the capital of a new province; Šaľa lay inside it, under Ottoman authority, until the fortress was retaken in 1685 and the province collapsed the following year. Numbers like these are what the Ottoman century means in practice — not banners and sieges, but a market town cut down to a tenth of itself. Market rights had to be granted all over again in 1692, because in effect there was a new town to grant them to.Nájazdy v rokoch 1661 až 1663 nechali v Šali stáť tridsať domov z troch stoviek. V roku 1663 potom padli Nové Zámky, Osmani z nich urobili sídlo novej provincie a Šaľa sa ocitla vnútri nej, pod osmanskou správou — až do roku 1685, keď pevnosť dobyli späť, a provincia sa nasledujúci rok rozpadla.
