By the middle of the seventeenth century the village had been destroyed and stood empty, and it was not resettled until 1680. This is the part of frontier history that usually gets skipped: a castle can be recaptured, but the households that made up a village mostly do not come back — new people have to be brought in, generally from further north. The estate passed from the Balassa family, who held it from 1598, through a succession of lesser noble families over the following two centuries.Do polovice sedemnásteho storočia bola dedina zničená a stála prázdna; znovu ju osídlili až roku 1680.
