Vígľaš CastleVígľašský zámok
In 1870 the Vígľaš estate was bought by Mikuláš Kiš de Nemeskér, and the modern age arrived with him. The Pest–Salgótarján–Zvolen–Vrútky railway was built past the village between 1870 and 1872, with a station and a post office. The Kiš family brought piped water and electric power to the estate, built modern cattle sheds, and were the first in the Kingdom of Hungary to introduce machine milking. From 1891 they rebuilt and modernised the castle in the Romantic style then in fashion — the last major work it received before the twentieth century. In 1905 the estate was sold again, to Archduke Frederick of Habsburg, who laid a narrow-gauge forest railway from Vígľaš up to Kyslinky and built a timber yard at the station.V roku 1870 kúpil vígľašské panstvo Mikuláš Kiš de Nemeskér a s ním sem prišla moderná doba. V rokoch 1870 – 1872 postavili popri obci železnicu Pešť – Šalgótarján – Zvolen – Vrútky so stanicou aj poštou.
