Something shook the ruin badly enough that it was never repaired again, and the two Slovak encyclopedia entries about this place do not agree on when. The entry for the castle says an earthquake in 1858 severely damaged the structure and that nothing was ever done about it afterwards. The entry for the village puts the earthquake damage in 1763, almost a century earlier. Neither says which earthquake it means or where the date came from. Rather than quietly pick one and print it as fact, it is more useful to show you both — because a disagreement exactly like this one usually sits behind the confident single date on a monument board.Niečo zrúcaninou otriaslo natoľko, že ju už nikdy neopravili, a dve slovenské encyklopedické heslá sa nezhodujú v tom, kedy.
