Strečno reopened to visitors in 1995, and what stands today is a rebuilt castle rather than a preserved ruin: walls, roofs, a courtyard, a chapel named for Žofia Bosniaková and an exhibition inside. How much of it is genuinely medieval is an argument worth having, and worth having on the spot. What no amount of rebuilding could change is why the castle is here at all. Stand on the rampart and look straight down — the river, the road, the railway and the gorge walls stacked into one frame, every one of them forced through the same gap, exactly as they were in 1316.Strečno sprístupnili návštevníkom v roku 1995 a to, čo dnes stojí, je skôr obnovený hrad než konzervovaná zrúcanina: múry, strechy, nádvorie, kaplnka pomenovaná po Žofii Bosniakovej a expozícia vnútri.
