The Roman Catholic parish church of St Stephen the King was built between 1410 and 1420 — exactly the years when Stibor of Stiboricz was turning the castle above into a lord's palace. That is not a coincidence. A lord who wanted his seat to look like a great man's seat wanted the town below it to match, and paying for a church was the most visible way of saying so. The church has been altered many times since, but it is the oldest building in the village and the clearest surviving piece of the medieval market town. Look at it and at the ruin together and you are looking at one building campaign.Rímskokatolícky farský Kostol sv.
