The oldest document that names this place is from 1262, where it appears as villa Brizoua. That is a fact about a charter, not about when people arrived — there were farms here before anyone wrote them down. The date matters for another reason: it falls in the generation after the Mongol invasion of 1241, when King Béla IV was pushing stone castles and new settlement across a kingdom that had just been overrun. The castles that came to control this country, Čachtice and Branč, belong to that same wave of building, and Brezová would be an estate village under one of them for the next three centuries.Najstaršia listina, ktorá toto miesto menuje, je z roku 1262 a hovorí o villa Brizoua.
