Owning the castle changed what it was. It stopped being a rival power inside the walls and became a large municipal building the town had to find a use for — a much duller and much better fate. Then in 1787 it burned. It stayed a damaged shell for over a century: a roofless castle in the middle of a market town is an expensive thing to own, and nobody was in a hurry.Vlastníctvo zmenilo zmysel hradu.
