In 1720 the Esterházy family, one of the great landowning houses of the kingdom, built a manor house here and laid out a large park beside the river around it. This is the economy of the age made visible: the estate's fields, its labourers and its dues paid for a house, a garden and a household with music in it. The building was remodelled later in a classical style, and the old trees of the park are still the best thing about the place. Without that house the town's one internationally famous episode could not have happened at all.V roku 1720 tu Esterháziovci, jeden z veľkých veľkostatkárskych rodov kráľovstva, postavili kaštieľ a okolo neho pri rieke založili rozsiahly park. Je to vtedajšie hospodárstvo urobené viditeľným: polia panstva, jeho robotníci a jeho dávky zaplatili dom, záhradu a domácnosť, v ktorej sa hrávala hudba. Budovu neskôr klasicisticky prestavali a staré stromy v parku sú dodnes tým najlepším, čo tu je. Bez tohto domu by sa najznámejšia epizóda mesta nemohla stať.
