The village was put back up between 1945 and 1947, the brickworks closed and stone was still being cut here until 1967. The new communist state took Jánošík over from the national movement without much difficulty: a poor man who robbed the rich was a gift to it, and Paľo Bielik's two-part film of 1963 made that version official. From the early 1960s the village has held the festival Jánošíkove dni every summer, which is also when its own music is heard at full strength. The result is a place living beside its own legend — and a museum exhibition in the village called simply “Jánošík and Terchová”.Obec postavili nanovo v rokoch 1945 – 1947, tehelňa skončila a kameň sa tu spracúval ešte do roku 1967. Nový komunistický štát prevzal Jánošíka od národného hnutia bez väčších ťažkostí: chudobný človek, ktorý okrádal bohatých, mu prišiel vhod, a dvojdielny film Paľa Bielika z roku 1963 urobil z tejto verzie oficiálnu. Od začiatku šesťdesiatych rokov sa v obci každé leto konajú Jánošíkove dni — a vtedy zaznie naplno aj jej vlastná muzika. Vzniklo tak miesto, ktoré žije vedľa vlastnej legendy — a expozícia v obci sa volá jednoducho „Jánošík a Terchová“.
