The oldest human traces in this valley are archaeological, not written: finds from the cave called Okno show that people were here in prehistoric times. That is normal for karst country — a dry cave mouth is shelter, and shelter is the first thing a landscape can offer. Nobody lived permanently up here; the valley is high, cold and shut in by spruce forest. It was a place you came into and went back out of, which is a description that still fits.Najstaršie stopy človeka v tejto doline nie sú písané, ale archeologické: nálezy z jaskyne Okno dokazujú, že tu ľudia boli už v praveku.
