Prešov is Slovakia's third city and the capital of Šariš, and for a long time it did its serious shopping somewhere else — in Košice, thirty-odd kilometres down the road. Eperia changed that. It opened in 2017 on the edge of Sekčov, the vast housing estate on the city's north-eastern flank, and a second stage in 2021 made it larger again. It is the biggest centre in the region — and its name is a small piece of local history in itself.Prešov je tretím mestom Slovenska a hlavným mestom Šariša a dlho chodil na veľké nákupy inam — do Košíc, tridsať kilometrov po ceste. Eperia to zmenila. Otvorila sa v roku 2017 na okraji Sekčova, rozsiahleho sídliska na severovýchodnom okraji mesta, a druhá etapa ju v roku 2021 ešte zväčšila. Je najväčším centrom v kraji — a už jej názov je kúskom miestnej histórie.
