Optima

A kilometre south of the old town, where Moldavská cesta leaves the city for the steelworks and the limestone country beyond, stands the biggest shopping centre in eastern Slovakia. Optima opened in 2002, in the first wave of full-scale out-of-centre retail in the country, and it has never given up the title. This is the other Košice: not the Gothic street, but the wide arterial, the tram to the ironworks and the car park you can see from the flyover.Kilometer južne od starého mesta, tam, kde Moldavská cesta opúšťa mesto smerom k železiarňam a k vápencovému kraju za nimi, stojí najväčšie nákupné centrum východného Slovenska. Optima otvorila v roku 2002, v prvej vlne veľkého mimocentrového maloobchodu v krajine, a od vtedy si prvenstvo udržala. Toto sú tie druhé Košice: nie gotická ulica, ale široký prieťah, električka k železiarňam a parkovisko, ktoré vidíte z estakády.
