The bones are mid-2000s: a broad, essentially horizontal building with its retail spread over a small number of levels, a free surface car park wrapped around it, and entrances facing the road and the estates rather than a square. What you see inside, though, is the 2014 rebuild — new finishes, reworked circulation, a lighter and more open concourse, and a cleaner exterior. It is a good illustration of something that happens quietly across Slovakia: rather than abandoning the first generation of shopping centres, their owners have been steadily stripping them back and redoing them.
The practical consequences are the ones that matter. Parking is free and at ground level, which for a family with a full trolley and a child in a car seat beats an underground ramp every time. The plan is short and legible rather than a maze. And the cinema sits inside the same building as the shopping, so a winter evening can be one trip instead of two — which, in a town where the winter evening is most of the year, is the whole argument.
