Central is a mixed-use block, and the shops are only one floor of the argument. The office tower runs to twenty storeys and stands a little over eighty metres; a hotel occupies a second, shorter slab beside it; the shopping gallery fills the podium at the base; a fitness centre with a twenty-five-metre pool and a health clinic sit inside as well; and there are three levels of parking underground rather than a field of it outside. On a tight city block, the only direction left is up and down.Central je polyfunkčný blok a obchody sú len jedným poschodím celého argumentu. Administratívna veža má dvadsať podlaží a je o niečo vyššia než osemdesiat metrov; vedľa nej stojí druhá, nižšia hmota s hotelom; nákupná galéria vypĺňa podnož; vnútri je aj fitness centrum s dvadsaťpäťmetrovým bazénom a zdravotnícke zariadenie; a namiesto poľa parkoviska vonku sú tri podzemné podlažia. Na tesnom mestskom bloku vedú jediné voľné smery hore a dole.
The consequence for a visitor is that Central feels small, and pleasantly so. The gallery is stacked over a handful of levels rather than strung out along a kilometre of corridor, so you can cross it quickly, orient yourself easily and leave without the distinct out-of-town feeling of having lost an afternoon. Vehicle entry is off Metodova and Jelačičova, turning in from Bajkalská; on foot, you simply walk in off the street, which sounds trivial and is in fact the single biggest difference between this and every retail park in the country.Dôsledok pre návštevníka je ten, že Central pôsobí malo, a to príjemne. Galéria je naskladaná na niekoľkých podlažiach, nie natiahnutá pozdĺž kilometra chodby, takže ju rýchlo prejdete, ľahko sa v nej zorientujete a odídete bez toho výrazného pocitu z okraja mesta, že ste stratili popoludnie. Autom sa vchádza z Metodovej a Jelačičovej po odbočení z Bajkalskej; pešo jednoducho vojdete z ulice, čo znie banálne a v skutočnosti je to najväčší rozdiel medzi týmto miestom a každým retail parkom v krajine.
One detail deserves more credit than it gets. Part of the roof over the retail podium is a public terrace and garden with a small children's playground — an open piece of ground handed back to the district, a full decade before Nivy made a rooftop park the headline feature of Slovak retail. Central did it quietly, in 2012, and almost nobody wrote it up.Jeden detail si zaslúži viac uznania, než sa mu dostáva. Časť strechy nad obchodnou podnožou je verejná terasa a záhrada s malým detským ihriskom — kus otvorenej plochy vrátený štvrti, a to celú dekádu pred tým, než Nivy spravili zo strešného parku hlavnú správu slovenského maloobchodu. Central to urobil ticho, v roku 2012, a takmer nikto o tom nenapísal.
