Squat, angled and thick-walled, designed to mount guns and to deflect them. They wrap the older castle completely, and the join between medieval upright wall and Renaissance sloping revetment is visible in several places.Nízke, zošikmené a hrubostenné — postavené na to, aby niesli delá a zároveň ich strely odklonili. The volunteer conservationDobrovoľnícka obnova
Čabraď is one of the longest-running volunteer castle projects in Slovakia. Generations of students and locals have carried materials up the valley and rebuilt what was collapsing. If you meet them working, say so — it is unpaid and it is why the castle is still here.Čabraď je jedným z najdlhšie bežiacich dobrovoľníckych hradných projektov na Slovensku. Generácie študentov a miestnych sem vynosili materiál údolím a domurovali to, čo sa rúcalo. Ak ich pri práci stretnete, povedzte im to — robia to zadarmo a je to dôvod, prečo hrad ešte stojí.
The nature reservePrírodná rezervácia
The valley is a protected area of warm south-facing slopes, rich in thermophilous plants, insects and reptiles, and the castle vaults are a known bat roost. Stay on the track, take your rubbish out, and do not light fires.Údolie je chránené územie teplých južných svahov, bohaté na teplomilné rastliny, hmyz a plazy, a hradné klenby sú známym útočiskom netopierov. Držte sa cesty, odpadky si odneste a nezakladajte oheň.
