An Hour Through the TreesHodina medzi stromami
The usual start is Nezbudská Lúčka, the village on the left bank, from where a marked forest trail climbs steadily to the spur — around an hour of walking, steep in places, on a path that gets slippery when it is wet. In the warm season a small ferry crosses the Váh from the Strečno side, which turns the whole outing into a neat loop; it is seasonal and not guaranteed, so if the day matters, take the road round through Varín instead.Zvyčajným východiskom je Nezbudská Lúčka, obec na ľavom brehu, odkiaľ značený lesný chodník rovnomerne stúpa na ostrohu — asi hodina chôdze, miestami strmo, po chodníku, ktorý je za mokra šmykľavý. V teplej sezóne premáva cez Váh zo strečnianskej strany malá kompa, ktorá z výletu urobí pekný okruh; je však sezónna a nie istá, takže ak vám na dni záleží, choďte radšej cestou cez Varín.
What waits at the top is a proper forest ruin: walls, a tower stump, grassed-over floors and a good deal of tree. There is no ticket office, no guide, no railing and no café — just the walls, held together by volunteer conservation work that has been going on for years. Come out onto the exposed side and the reward arrives all at once: the Domašínsky meander, the great bend the Váh makes directly below, with Strečno on its rock across the water and the road and railway threading the gap between them.Hore vás čaká skutočná lesná zrúcanina: múry, pahýľ veže, zatrávnené podlahy a poriadny kus stromov. Niet tu pokladne, sprievodcu, zábradlia ani kaviarne — len múry, ktoré drží pokope dobrovoľnícka konzervácia trvajúca už roky. Vyjdite na otvorenú stranu a odmena príde naraz: Domašínsky meander, veľký ohyb, ktorý Váh robí priamo pod vami, so Strečnom na skale za vodou a s cestou i železnicou prevlečenými medzerou medzi nimi.
