Laugaricio is an edge-of-town centre and makes no attempt to pretend otherwise. Where a city-centre mall has to fold itself into a street frontage and climb, this one spreads: a long horizontal volume with its entrances set under canopies, ringed by a broad free surface car park rather than tucked over an underground garage. You arrive by car, you park level with the door, and you walk straight in. That is the whole design brief, and it is executed without fuss.Laugaricio je centrum na okraji mesta a ani sa netvári inak. Inside, the plan is the standard one and none the worse for it: a covered internal street running the length of the building, shopfronts on both sides, and daylight dropped in from above through roof lights so the middle of the plan does not feel like a basement. Walking it is easy — the distances are long rather than steep, and there is little of the disorienting circling that taller centres impose.
