This is one of the friendliest castle walks in the region. The trail starts in Podhradie, at the foot of the hill, and climbs steadily through mixed woodland — a manageable half hour or so, without scrambling and without exposure, which makes it a genuine family outing rather than a hill day. Local walkers do it before breakfast; visitors do it with children and a picnic.Je to jedna z najpríjemnejších hradných túr v kraji. The last stretch opens out and the castle arrives all at once. The medieval remains are the lower storey of the visit: curtain walls, the footings of the gate, the shells of the palace ranges, terraces cut into the rock. Then, standing up out of the middle of it, the tower — whitewashed, tall, slim, and quite obviously from a different century than everything around it. The contrast is not a flaw. It is the reason people photograph this castle and not the dozen other ruins within an hour of it.Posledný úsek sa otvorí a hrad príde naraz. Consolidation work has gone on here over recent years, so parts of the walls have been re-capped and made safe, and parts have not.
