Bratislava's newer skyline is just as confident as its old one. The UFO observation deck rides the pylon of the SNP Bridge (Most SNP) over the Danube, a flying-saucer restaurant and viewing platform that has stared down the Old Town's spires for decades. Downriver, Eurovea turned a stretch of derelict riverbank into the city's showcase promenade. Inland, behind iron gates on a quiet square, Grasalkovičov palác keeps a lower profile as the official residence of the President of Slovakia.Novšia silueta Bratislavy si verí rovnako ako tá stará. On the hill above the centre, the Slavín memorial and cemetery holds the graves of Soviet soldiers, its obelisk visible from much of the city below.
