Nitra has been the capital of Slovak agriculture for as long as Slovak agriculture has had one. The country's agricultural university is here; so is the National Agricultural and Food Centre; and so is Agrokomplex, the national exhibition centre, whose halls on the eastern edge of the city fill each late summer with the biggest agricultural and food fair in Slovakia — machinery, livestock, growers and a fairground crowd, for the better part of a week.Nitra je hlavným mestom slovenského poľnohospodárstva odvtedy, čo slovenské poľnohospodárstvo nejaké hlavné mesto má. Then, in the middle of the last decade, the fields north-west of the city became the Nitra Strategic Park. Jaguar Land Rover began series production at its plant there in 2018, and a cluster of component suppliers followed onto the same estate. For a region that had lived on soil science, food processing and machinery, it was the single largest change to working life in a generation — and it pulled logistics, engineering and services in behind it.V polovici minulého desaťročia sa polia severozápadne od mesta zmenili na Strategický park Nitra. Jaguar Land Rover tam v roku 2018 spustil sériovú výrobu a do toho istého areálu prišiel celý zhluk dodávateľov komponentov. Pre región, ktorý dovtedy žil z pôdoznalectva, potravinárstva a strojárstva, to bola najväčšia zmena pracovného života za celú generáciu — a potiahla za sebou logistiku, inžinierstvo aj služby.
