Nitra is divided into thirteen boroughs — Staré Mesto, Čermáň, Klokočina, Diely, Párovské Háje, Kynek, Mlynárce, Zobor, Dražovce, Chrenová, Janíkovce, Horné Krškany and Dolné Krškany — and once you have the names, the city stops being confusing.Nitra sa člení na trinásť mestských častí — Staré Mesto, Čermáň, Klokočina, Diely, Párovské Háje, Kynek, Mlynárce, Zobor, Dražovce, Chrenová, Janíkovce, Horné Krškany a Dolné Krškany — a len čo si ich mená osvojíte, prestane byť mesto neprehľadné.
Staré Mesto is the old town beneath the castle. Klokočina and Diely are the tall estates on the western slopes, where a large share of the city actually lives. Chrenová, across the river to the east, is the campus quarter. Zobor and Dražovce lie under the hill among gardens and vineyards — and Dražovce keeps a tiny Romanesque church of St Michael on a bare rock spur, one of the most photographed silhouettes in the country. Janíkovce has the city's small airfield; Horné and Dolné Krškany hold the older industry to the south. Beyond the boundary, a ring of wine villages, market villages and commuter settlements belongs to Nitra as surely as any borough does.Staré Mesto je jadro pod hradom. Klokočina a Diely sú vysoké sídliská na západných svahoch, kde reálne býva veľká časť mesta. Chrenová za riekou na východe je univerzitná štvrť. Zobor a Dražovce ležia pod vrchom medzi záhradami a vinicami — a Dražovce si nad sebou držia drobný románsky Kostol svätého Michala na holom skalnom brale, jednu z najfotografovanejších siluet na Slovensku. V Janíkovciach je mestské letisko; Horné a Dolné Krškany nesú starší priemysel na juhu. Za hranicou mesta patrí Nitre prstenec vinohradníckych, roľníckych a prímestských obcí rovnako isto ako ktorákoľvek mestská časť.
