The JOJ group’s rolling news channel, launched in the autumn of 2021: news through the whole day from the newsroom that makes the main channel’s evening bulletins, live coverage when a story breaks — and, unusually for this group, an online stream that plays without an account.Spravodajský kanál skupiny JOJ s nepretržitým vysielaním, spustený na jeseň 2021: správy počas celého dňa z redakcie, ktorá pripravuje večerné Noviny hlavného kanála, živé vstupy pri veľkých udalostiach — a, v tejto skupine nezvyčajne, online stream, ktorý hrá aj bez konta.

JOJ 24 is the JOJ group’s entry in rolling news — the third continuous news operation in Slovak television, after TA3 had the field to itself for two decades and the public broadcaster joined with :24. It is built on the group’s existing journalism rather than a new organisation: the reporters, presenters and editors of the main channel’s news serve the news channel too, and the two share one newsroom.JOJ 24 je vstupom skupiny JOJ do nepretržitého spravodajstva — tretia spravodajská prevádzka slovenskej televízie po tom, čo malo TA3 pole dve desaťročia pre seba a verejnoprávny vysielateľ pridal :24. Nestojí na novej organizácii, ale na existujúcej žurnalistike skupiny: reportéri, moderátori a editori spravodajstva hlavného kanála slúžia aj spravodajskému kanálu a obe stanice zdieľajú jednu redakciu.
For the group it answers a simple problem: an evening bulletin, however strong, exists only at eight o’clock. A news channel keeps the same journalism on air the whole day, holds the audience between bulletins, and gives a big story somewhere to run at full length.Pre skupinu rieši jednoduchý problém: večerné správy, akokoľvek silné, existujú len o ôsmej. Spravodajský kanál drží tú istú žurnalistiku vo vysielaní celý deň, udrží divákov medzi reláciami a veľkej udalosti dáva priestor bežať v plnej dĺžke.

The day runs on news blocks repeated and refreshed through the morning and afternoon: headlines return on a fixed rhythm and reports are updated as stories move. The main channel’s flagship evening news and its morning programme appear here as well, so the channel doubles as a second screen for the group’s main output.Deň beží na spravodajských blokoch, ktoré sa dopoludnia i popoludní opakujú a priebežne obnovujú: titulky sa vracajú v pevnom rytme a reportáže sa dopĺňajú podľa toho, ako sa udalosti vyvíjajú. Objavujú sa tu aj hlavné večerné správy a ranné vysielanie hlavného kanála, takže stanica slúži aj ako druhá obrazovka hlavnej produkcie skupiny.
Around the blocks sit discussion and current-affairs programmes — interviews and political debate drawing on the same newsroom — and live coverage takes over whenever it should: press conferences, parliament, election nights, severe weather.Okolo blokov stoja diskusné a publicistické relácie — rozhovory a politické debaty čerpajúce z tej istej redakcie — a živé vysielanie preberá obrazovku vždy, keď treba: tlačové konferencie, parlament, volebné noci, mimoriadne počasie.

Rolling news reached Slovakia in 2001 with TA3, and for twenty years one channel was the whole genre. Digital distribution changed the arithmetic — a news channel no longer needed a scarce analogue frequency — and within a year of each other the JOJ group and the public broadcaster both launched one, JOJ 24 arriving in the autumn of 2021.Nepretržité spravodajstvo prišlo na Slovensko v roku 2001 s TA3 a dve desaťročia bol jeden kanál celým žánrom. Digitálna distribúcia zmenila počty — spravodajský kanál už nepotreboval vzácnu analógovú frekvenciu — a v rozpätí jediného roka spustili po jednom skupina JOJ aj verejnoprávny vysielateľ; JOJ 24 prišiel na jeseň 2021.
Ownership is the group’s story rather than the channel’s own: JOJ 24 belongs to the same broadcasting group as TV JOJ, and its fortunes follow the group’s.Vlastníctvo je príbehom skupiny, nie samotného kanála: JOJ 24 patrí do tej istej vysielacej skupiny ako TV JOJ a jeho osudy sledujú osudy skupiny.

The watch card here opens JOJ 24’s own live page — and unlike the group’s main channels, this stream plays without signing in: the broadcaster’s own player configuration marks JOJ 24 as one of just two channels it streams to visitors with no account (checked in August 2026).
