Fun rádio is a national commercial station broadcasting on FM and DAB across Slovakia, and one of the oldest private stations in the country. Its identity is music-first and young-adult: dance, chart pop and the electronic edge of the mainstream, with little of the talk that fills a news station's day.
It is a commercial broadcaster and part of a larger media group. As with the rest of Slovak commercial radio the ownership has moved more than once, and no owner is named here. What has stayed constant is the format, and the fact that the programme is put together nationally as one service.Ide o komerčného vysielateľa a súčasť väčšej mediálnej skupiny.
The daytime playlist is chart music — current international pop, dance and rap, with Slovak and Czech releases alongside — kept narrow and repeated often, because that is what a hit format is. The station has always leaned harder towards dance than its rivals, and the difference is most audible in the evening, when the rotation gives way to mixed sets.Denný playlist tvorí hitparádová hudba — aktuálny medzinárodný pop, tanečná hudba a rap, popretkávané slovenskými a českými novinkami — úzko vybraná a často opakovaná, lebo presne tým hitový formát je. Stanica sa vždy klonila k tanečnej hudbe viac než jej konkurenti a najviac to počuť večer, keď rotácia ustúpi mixovaným setom.
Mornings are the exception to the music-first rule. The breakfast show is the station's best-known property — irreverent, built on sketches, listener phone-ins and running jokes rather than interviews with ministers — and for a good many listeners it is the reason to tune in at all. Slovak commercial radio is a morning business, and the rest of the day is largely inherited from whoever wins the drive to work.Výnimkou z hudobného pravidla je ráno.
Beyond the daytime rotation the schedule carries chart countdowns and DJ sets, the oldest and most durable fixtures of the format. Dance radio in central Europe grew up alongside club culture and the summer festival circuit, and a station like this one is a shop window for both: what a Slovak festival crowd already knows is largely what this network has been playing all year.Popri dennej rotácii nesie vysielanie hitparády a DJ sety — najstaršie a najodolnejšie stálice tohto formátu.
Fun rádio belongs to the first generation of Slovak private radio, licensed in the early 1990s when the state monopoly ended and a great many small stations appeared, most of which did not last. It survived by going national and by holding one format long enough that the format became the brand.Fun rádio patrí k prvej generácii slovenských súkromných rádií, licencovanej začiatkom 90. rokov, keď sa skončil štátny monopol a vzniklo množstvo malých staníc — väčšina z nich neprežila.
That longevity is unusual. Names in the Slovak ether have come and gone with licences, mergers and rebrandings, and a station broadcasting under the same name since the 1990s is now the exception rather than the rule.
FM in the car and DAB where the multiplex reaches are the everyday routes. The station's own site and app are the dependable ones, and the only ones that behave the same abroad as at home; aggregator listings go stale the moment a stream address changes.
The player on this page is fed from a stream the broadcaster publishes. If that address moves or is restricted the player goes quiet, and nothing on this page can mend it. Music licensing is granted territory by territory, so a stream that plays inside Slovakia is not guaranteed to play outside it.Prehrávač na tejto stránke ťahá zvuk zo streamu, ktorý zverejňuje vysielateľ.
